Sports Updates: Gor mahia match against Bandari venue moved

The Kenyan Premier League (KPL) have moved the venue of the opening match of the season between Gor Mahia and Bandari FC, set for Sunday.
According to KPL CEO Jack Oguda, the Kenyan Super Cup - pitting the KPL champions and FKF Shield Cup winners against each other - will now be played at Machakos Stadium and not Kasarani Stadium as earlier planned.
“We wanted the match to be played at Kasarani but the venue is already booked for another event,” Oguda

The Magistrate sitting on the tax evasion case involving Keroche Breweries Directors against The Kenya Revenue Authority has set the Keroche Breweries Bosses free on bail terms. “Joseph Karanja to pay cash bail Ksh. 2million within seven days while Mrs. Karanja should pay Ksh. 10million immediately’’ Magistrate Andayi ruled. The 28 years old will be the club's most expensive player in history. Tottenham Hotspur and Belgium's Club Brugge are reported to have settled on a fee of around Ksh.1.5 BILLION (£12 million) for the player. “Tottenham and Club Brugge have agreed a fee of around £12m for Victor Wanyama,”  Sky Sports  reported. This comes a day after Legislature from Nyeri County Assembly rejected the bill. The MCAs on their defense say proposed law likely to erode constitutional gains achieved since 2010. The proposed amendments require a backing of at least 25 counties to proceed to next level before it can be subjected to a referendum. PHOTO | COURTESY STATE HOUSE President Uhuru Kenyatta has announced there will be no national examinations in primary schools under the new curriculum. Uhuru made the declaration on Friday during the third National Conference on Curriculum Reforms at the KICC. Junior secondary schools will now be domiciled in secondary school doing away with examinations to be held in Grade 6 during the transition. These are part of the recommendations by a task force set up to iron out the issues surrounding the implementation of the new curriculum which has been adopted by the President. Business: KENYA AIRWAYS reports Billions of Losses

Kenya Airways has today reported Ksh8.56 billion net loss for the half year ending June 30, from a loss of Ksh4.03 billion recorded in similar period last year. This is despite a slight growth in total income during the period which closed at Sh58.9 billion compared to Sh52.2 billion. Baringo Senator Gideon Moi on Sunday hosted several Rift Valley leaders in Kabarak as the battle between him and Deputy President William Ruto for control of the region continues of 2022. The leaders visited retired President Daniel Moi before holding a closed-door meeting with Gideon. Those present included Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos, Moiben MP Sila Tiren, Nominated MP Wilson Sossion and Kanu Secretary General Nick Salat.
