DPP lines up 67 witnesses against Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu on 588M graft case

Deputy Director Public Prosecutions (DDPP) Nicholas Mutuku told the court that all documents that prosecution will be relying on are ready for service and can be picked from EACC offices. The court as set pre-trial conference on 27/9/2019. 
''Prosecution is ready for the trial of Governor Ferdinand Waititu & 12 others charged with irregular award of Sh588 million roads tender in Kiambu County. Prosecution has line up 67 witnesses.'' Statement from ODPP twitter handled reads.
Waititu was barred by the court from accessing his office until the graft case against him heard and determined. The prosecution had been pushing for officers including governors facing graft cases to step aside until their cases are concluded.

School suspends SDA students for refusing to seat exams on Saturday

Five students from AIC Chebisaas Boys High School in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County moved to court on Wednesday after they were suspended for allegedly refusing to sit for exams on a Saturday. According to the students who belong to the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) faith, Saturday is their professed Sabbath Day and they should observe it by going  Church. The school management allegedly suspended them on July 6, 2019 for failing to do the allocated exams their Sabbath Day. The students accused the school of infringing on their religious rights.

Uhuru made the declaration on Friday during the third National Conference on Curriculum Reforms at the KICC. Junior secondary schools will now be domiciled in secondary school doing away with examinations to be held in Grade 6 during the transition. These are part of the recommendations by a task force set up to iron out the issues surrounding the implementation of the new curriculum which has been adopted by the President. But he must first commit to Kenyans that in case of a defeat, he will gracefully accept the decision of Kenyans,” the Deputy President William Ruto said. Speaking during a prayer service in Meru County on Sunday, Ruto, however, said he would not be drawn into the 2022 political race debate, arguing that he was busy ensuring that the Jubilee manifesto and the Big Four agenda are realised.

The amount of Money Ken Okoth's family set to receive from Parliament

''But they will have to wait for some time since Parliament must first get a letter from the courts indicating the administrator of the late MP’s estate,”  MPs’ pensions expert has said “Yes the family is entitled to Sh32 million before tax, but we are not releasing the money now. Majority Leader Aden Duale to retire from politics if Ruto wins Presidency in 2022 Elections

The Majority Leader in the National Assembly Aden Duale has said he will quit politics if Deputy President William Ruto becomes president. Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV on Tuesday night, Duale said he could even serve as a clerk in State House if Ruto wins in 2022. Duale who has been a firm supporter of the DP since 2007, acknowledged Ruto to be a strong politician The Garissa Town MP made it clear that the 2022 presidential race will be between Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga. He termed the rest of the perceived 2022 candidates as jokers.
