DPP lines up 67 witnesses against Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu on 588M graft case

Deputy Director Public Prosecutions (DDPP) Nicholas Mutuku told the court that all documents that prosecution will be relying on are ready for service and can be picked from EACC offices. The court as set pre-trial conference on 27/9/2019. 
''Prosecution is ready for the trial of Governor Ferdinand Waititu & 12 others charged with irregular award of Sh588 million roads tender in Kiambu County. Prosecution has line up 67 witnesses.'' Statement from ODPP twitter handled reads.
Waititu was barred by the court from accessing his office until the graft case against him heard and determined. The prosecution had been pushing for officers including governors facing graft cases to step aside until their cases are concluded.

Keroche Breweries owners freed on bail

The Magistrate sitting on the tax evasion case involving Keroche Breweries Directors against The Kenya Revenue Authority has set the Keroche Breweries Bosses free on bail terms. “Joseph Karanja to pay cash bail Ksh. 2million within seven days while Mrs. Karanja should pay Ksh. 10million immediately’’ Magistrate Andayi ruled. Wedding turns tragic as a person dies, 10 hospitalized

One family member and more than 40 other guests fell ill after attending a wedding last weekend. According to reports, at least 10 guests and family members are currently admitted in various Nairobi hospitals after testing positive to cholera. As of Wednesday, at least three of them were admitted at Mater Hospital, three at Mama Lucy Hospital and four at the Kenyatta National Hospital. However, the groom Wilson Wamunyu and his wife Sarah survived the scare and flew for their honeymoon in Dubai immediately after the wedding on Saturday. Speaking to the media, Samson Mathu, the groom’s brother noted that their 89-year-old grandfather, Wamunyu Wilson, died on Tuesday at Mt Kenya Hospital. Mathu noted: “We have written to the food supplier to demand answers.” He revealed that the food was supplied by Hot Dishes, a Nairobi-based restaurant with outdoor catering services. This comes a day after t he Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC)  gazetted November 7, 2019 as the date for Kibra Constituency by-elections .  In a gazette notice dated August 16, IEBC said each political party intending to participate in the Kibra by-election has until August 26, 2019 to submit names of candidates set to take part in the nominations. Party nominations according to IEBC, will be held on September 9 and 10 ,2019. It’s embarrassing to see even national leaders singing and dancing to the obscenity in public. The lyrics are dirty and not suitable for public consumption, especially children,” he wrote on Twitter. “Both songs are pure pornography. While we may not ban them because they are coded, it’s important for the public to know that they are dirty and unsuitable for mixed company. Appearing before Milimani Commercial Court Chief Magistrate, Peter Ngare, on Wednesday, August 28, Ms Kitany said one day she peeped at her husband’s phone and “found a woman had sent him a pornographic video”. That discovery, on top of being denied her conjugal rights, drove Ms Kitany into filing for a formal separation from the former Igembe South MP. “I filed for divorce because Linturi was cheating on me,” Ms Kitany told the court, adding: “He slept with other women in town.” “Linturi would come home late, and did not want to give me my conjugal rights,” said Ms Kitany.
