Nairobi County Women Rep proposes the late Ken Okoth's brother for the vacant Kibra Constituency seat

Nairobi Women Rep Esther Passaris has proposed to the ODM party to consider Imran, the late Ken Okoth's brother for the vacant Kibra seat. Imran who has been serving as the Constituency's CDF Manager has been proposed by Passaris to continue with the projects Ken Okoth was undertaking.

KNUT SECRETARY GENERAL WILSON SOSSION WANTS TSC ABOLISHED

Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT)  Secretary General Wilson Sossion now wants the Teachers’ Service Commission (TSC) to be abolished. According to Mr. Sossion, who blames the commission for the endless stalemate between the government and teachers, an independent body should be created to help in the regulation of teachers’ welfare. Mr. Sossion also revealed that the union had already proposed amendments in the TSC Act that should only leave the commission with the responsibility of employing teachers. “The mandate that we granted TSC is bad, we need to return it back into the Ministry of Education. We cannot have two government bodies manning the same thing; education. We need to have one office and the money they are using should be used to employ teachers,” said Sossion. Passaris could clearly tell that her hubby and his guest were not having a business meeting. Anyway, she gracefully walked to their table, a smile on her face, mixed emotions in her heart and stretched her hand and said “hello darling”.  Passaris disclosed during a TV interview. “I walked in, I greeted him and went back to my table,” Passaris recalled that day with a chuckle of satisfaction. IEBC announces date for Kibra By-elections

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has gazetted November 7, 2019 as the date for Kibra Constituency by-elections .  In a gazette notice dated August 16, IEBC said each political party intending to participate in the Kibra by-election has until August 26, 2019 to submit names of candidates set to take part in the nominations. Party nominations according to IEBC, will be held on September 9 and 10 ,2019. School suspends SDA students for refusing to seat exams on Saturday

Five students from AIC Chebisaas Boys High School in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County moved to court on Wednesday after they were suspended for allegedly refusing to sit for exams on a Saturday. According to the students who belong to the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) faith, Saturday is their professed Sabbath Day and they should observe it by going  Church. The school management allegedly suspended them on July 6, 2019 for failing to do the allocated exams their Sabbath Day. The students accused the school of infringing on their religious rights.
