Nyeri County rejects ‘Punguza mzingo’ bill
According to Kirinya Govornor Ann Waiguru, the rejection of Ekuru Aukot proposed amendments to the constitution sets a sign of the times ahead. The Governor has been in support of the BBI which is yet to present its report to Kenyans.
''As I've said before, Mt Kenya is fully in support of BBI as evidenced today in Nyeri where the bill presented by Ekuru Aukot has been rejected by the whole assembly. Nyeri County has set the precedence; other counties are most likely to follow. These are signs of the times ahead.'' Ann Waiguru posted on her Twitter account.

He was awarded a gold certificate last week for his Sweet Farm Dairies Roret farm which stood out among others in the region. The competition organised by the Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Irrigation and Elgon Kenya, a non-governmental organisation, was aimed at encouraging farmers to transform their farms through technology. “In 2009, I bought a pedigree Friesian heifer which gave birth to the first heifer the following year. The cows have since multiplied; I now have 13 cows. The number could have been higher than this but I sold some,” said Ngetich. Addressing rallies in Meru on Saturday, Dr Ruto said amending the Constitution would be a waste of time. He said responsible leaders should focus on development initiatives to transform livelihoods of Kenyans instead of politicking. “They are disturbing us with these politics calling for changes to the Constitution. Let us desist from such politics and focus on development,” he said.

Suspected Mombasa drug lord Ali Punjani today escaped police trap in his residence in drug swoop that has been declared by Interior CS Fred Matiang’i. Police in plains clothes, GSU officers and K-9 Unit police officers with sniffer dogs raided the home in Nyali trying to net Punjani, who is suspected to be a close ally of convicted drug lords, the Akasha brothers. Census enumerator gang raped in Kisumu County

A census enumerator attached to Maseno, Kisumu County, was Saturday night hospitalized after she was gang raped and robbed by thugs. While confirming the incident, Nyanza police boss  Vincent Makhoha said a hunt has been launched for the attackers. According to Dr. Makhoha, the woman was ambushed outside her gate after she had been dropped off by her supervisor following completion of the exercise.He added that the suspects were hiding in a thicket near the woman’s gate and pounced on her immediately she was dropped off.The police boss further stated that the County Statistics Department has been ordered to immediately suspend the supervisor who dropped the woman due to negligence.The supervisor as well as police officers who were deployed in the area to offer security for the census team have also been summoned to record statements with the police in Maseno who are probing the incident.
