ODM'S ELECTIONS BOARD GIVES NOTICE ON KIBRA BY-ELECTIONS

''NEB invites interests persons for the Kibra parliamentary seat to download application forms from party website www.odm.co.ke , fill and submit to the Party Headquarters by close of business on Friday 23rd August 2019 '' a statement from the ODM Party reads. This comes a day after t he Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC)  gazetted November 7, 2019 as the date for Kibra Constituency by-elections .  In a gazette notice dated August 16, IEBC said each political party intending to participate in the Kibra by-election has until August 26, 2019 to submit names of candidates set to take part in the nominations. Party nominations according to IEBC, will be held on September 9 and 10 ,2019. The Kibra  seat fell vacant following the death of former Member of Parliament Ken Okoth, who  succumbed to cancer at the Nairobi Hospital.  Here is the copy of the Notice

''You cannot pick-pocket a naked man, personally, for me, betting companies assisted me in paying my university fee. I graduated in my actuarial science degree because of betting, so don't tell us that betting is bad ''  Babu Owino  The legislator has slammed CS for Interior Dr. Fred Matiang'i over the suspension of betting licences  accusing him of serving specific interests from specific individuals.  ''Betting is a willing buyer,willing seller and we cannot be told betting is bad'' Babu Owino added. He further said that next week he will mobilize youths to demonstrate against the Government's crackdown asking Gor mahia and AFC Leopards supporters  to come out and join the peaceful   demonstrations. 

Nandy Senator Arrested for Incitement

 Nandi Senator, Samson Cherargei, has been arrested at his Eldoret home over alleged incitement remarks that he made during the weekend against critics of DP Ruto.  Speaking at the funeral, Cherargei claimed that supporters of Deputy President were “marking and profiling” those opposed to his presidential bid.
