Government cancels earlier announced public holiday

“Contrary to our earlier dispatch on the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census, we wish to clarify that His Excellency the President did not announce that August 26 will be a public holiday,” read the statement from PSCU. “We regret the error and wish to say that as much as the Kenya 2019 Population and Housing Census is important to the country, August 26 which will be on a Monday will not be a public holiday. Our apologies for inconveniences caused by the erroneous communication'' PSCU The government, through a tweet by the official State House Twitter handle had announced that the holiday was to help facilitate the smooth process of the National Census scheduled for August 24 and 25, 2019

President Uhuru Kenyatta declares another Holiday in August

The Government has declared August 26 as a  public holiday to allow maximum enumeration of Kenyans during the National Population Census that begins next Saturday. The announcement was made today by President Uhuru Kenyatta at the Kenyatta National Convention Centre (KICC) , Nairobi when he launched the countdown to the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census. "To ensure maximum enumeration during the first two days ( August 24 and 25)  of the Census period, I have authorized Monday, 26th August 2019 to be a Public Holiday," the President announced.  This brings the number of Holidays declared by the Government this  August to two.

Two Rugby players found guilty of raping a musician sentenced for this number of years

The two Alex Mahaga and Frank Wanyama were found guilty of raping a musician last year at the Highrise Estate. This comes despite the defense praying for a noncustodial sentence. The Court was told that the two Kenya Harlequin FC players raped the singer overnight on her birthday at Seefar Apartments in Highrise, Nairobi, on February 10 last year.

Uhuru made the declaration on Friday during the third National Conference on Curriculum Reforms at the KICC. Junior secondary schools will now be domiciled in secondary school doing away with examinations to be held in Grade 6 during the transition. These are part of the recommendations by a task force set up to iron out the issues surrounding the implementation of the new curriculum which has been adopted by the President. Ladies, there is a new fad in town — vaginal steaming. But watch out, for it can be harmful. It involves women sitting on a pot and exposing their genitalia to steamed concoctions. However, repeated exposure, experts warn, could lead to burns, irritation and, in some cases, urinary tract infections. DELICATE TISSUE Vaginal steaming is dangerous and it can harm you, gynaecologists are now warning.
