Offices of the Auditor General and The Controller of Budget declared vacant

In a Gazette notice dated 27 August 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta has officially declared the Office of The Auditor General  and the Office of the controller of Budget vacant. The President has also invited interested Kenyans to apply for the vacant posts. Mr. Kenyatta however appointed Mr.Stephen Masha as the acting Controller of budget for a period of 90 days.

One family member and more than 40 other guests fell ill after attending a wedding last weekend. According to reports, at least 10 guests and family members are currently admitted in various Nairobi hospitals after testing positive to cholera. IEBC announces date for Kibra By-elections

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has gazetted November 7, 2019 as the date for Kibra Constituency by-elections .  In a gazette notice dated August 16, IEBC said each political party intending to participate in the Kibra by-election has until August 26, 2019 to submit names of candidates set to take part in the nominations. Party nominations according to IEBC, will be held on September 9 and 10 ,2019. The amount of Money Ken Okoth's family set to receive from Parliament

  Ken Okoth picture, in past event The family of former Kibra MP Ken Okoth will get Sh32 million from Parliament. The amount includes his group life insurance cover and death gratuity. ''But they will have to wait for some time since Parliament must first get a letter from the courts indicating the administrator of the late MP’s estate,”  MPs’ pensions expert has said “Yes the family is entitled to Sh32 million before tax, but we are not releasing the money now. Big win for Kenya on UN Security Council seat

President Uhuru Kenyatta and Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Monica Juma, Photo courtesy Kenya has been nominated as the African candidate for UN Security Council seat after defeating Djibouti in second round of voting at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa. A committee of envoys representing member states of the AU headquarters, officially known as the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC) made the decision in a secret ballot. Kenya will now contest at the United Nations for a one-year non-permanent seat in elections slated for next year in June.

Former Nyaribari Masaba MP and Moi era assistant minister Dr Hezron Manduku has passed on. Dr Manduku was admitted at the Nairobi Hospital in the ICU since last week, and lost the battle on Saturday night. Manduku was first elected in 1992, defeating Prof Sam Ongeri. He was appointed assistant minister Foreign Affairs following his success.
