Offices of the Auditor General and The Controller of Budget declared vacant

In a Gazette notice dated 27 August 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta has officially declared the Office of The Auditor General  and the Office of the controller of Budget vacant. The President has also invited interested Kenyans to apply for the vacant posts. Mr. Kenyatta however appointed Mr.Stephen Masha as the acting Controller of budget for a period of 90 days.

Nyeri County rejects ‘Punguza mzingo’ bill According to Kirinya Govornor Ann Waiguru, the rejection of Ekuru Aukot proposed amendments to the constitution sets a sign of the times ahead. The Governor has been in support of the BBI which is yet to present its report to Kenyans. ''As I've said before, Mt Kenya is fully in support of BBI as evidenced today in Nyeri where the bill presented by Ekuru Aukot has been rejected by the whole assembly. The  Uasin Gishu Women Rep while appearing on K24's  Punchline on Sunday night together with her   Homa Bay counterpart Gladys Wanga ,  said that “When people from Rift Valley woke up to vote in 2017, they did not wake up to vote for Uhuru Kenyatta. They woke up to vote for Ruto who was in partnership with Uhuru Kenyatta.” Gladys Shollei The Woman Rep further added that many people in the Rift Valley voted for Jubilee Party in 2013 and 2017 General Elections  because they supported Ruto and not President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Keroche Breweries owners freed on bail

The Magistrate sitting on the tax evasion case involving Keroche Breweries Directors against The Kenya Revenue Authority has set the Keroche Breweries Bosses free on bail terms. “Joseph Karanja to pay cash bail Ksh. 2million within seven days while Mrs. Karanja should pay Ksh. 10million immediately’’ Magistrate Andayi ruled. IEBC announces date for Kibra By-elections

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has gazetted November 7, 2019 as the date for Kibra Constituency by-elections .  In a gazette notice dated August 16, IEBC said each political party intending to participate in the Kibra by-election has until August 26, 2019 to submit names of candidates set to take part in the nominations. Party nominations according to IEBC, will be held on September 9 and 10 ,2019.
