Four-year-old girl defiled and killed in Kirinyaga

A police officer and Gacigoini village residents in Kirinyaga County at the scene where a four-year-old girl's body was dumped on August 12, 2019. 
A four-year-old girl was defiled, killed and her body dumped in a coffee farm in Kirinyaga County.   
Stacy Nyakio’s body, which was found on Monday morning, had bruises on the neck, a pointer that she might have been strangled.
Last year, the victim's uncle Mr Laurence Murimi was also murdered and his body dumped in a coffee factory.
The family linked the killings to protracted land dispute.
MISSING
The body of the girl who went missing on Sunday evening, was a few metres from her parents' home at Gacigoini village. Source Daily Nation

IEBC announces date for Kibra By-elections

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has gazetted November 7, 2019 as the date for Kibra Constituency by-elections .  In a gazette notice dated August 16, IEBC said each political party intending to participate in the Kibra by-election has until August 26, 2019 to submit names of candidates set to take part in the nominations. Party nominations according to IEBC, will be held on September 9 and 10 ,2019. The amount of Money Ken Okoth's family set to receive from Parliament

  Ken Okoth picture, in past event The family of former Kibra MP Ken Okoth will get Sh32 million from Parliament. The amount includes his group life insurance cover and death gratuity. ''But they will have to wait for some time since Parliament must first get a letter from the courts indicating the administrator of the late MP’s estate,”  MPs’ pensions expert has said “Yes the family is entitled to Sh32 million before tax, but we are not releasing the money now. President Uhuru Kenyatta and Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Monica Juma, Photo courtesy Kenya has been nominated as the African candidate for UN Security Council seat after defeating Djibouti in second round of voting at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa. A committee of envoys representing member states of the AU headquarters, officially known as the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC) made the decision in a secret ballot. Kenya will now contest at the United Nations for a one-year non-permanent seat in elections slated for next year in June.
