Suspects too drunk to stand trial now free men

Police have now freed suspects who were arraigned at Kibra Law courts on Thursday while too tipsy to stand a trial. Confirming the release, Nairobi area police boss Mr.Phillip Ndolo said that the suspects were released on "humanitarian grounds".

90,000 teachers quit teachers union,Knut

Shocking revelations have emerged of some 90,000 teachers who have pulled out of Knut in an ongoing tiff between the union and the teachers’ employer. It is understood that the fear of being locked out of the ongoing promotions and the looming deduction to recover monies paid to Kenya National Union of Teachers members following implementation of Collective Bargaining Agreement two years ago is behind the mass exit. Sources within Knut hinted that the likelihood that TSC may not honour any meetings with the Knut leadership to push for teachers’ benefits has further driven away members. Knut is already feeling the heat on the failed remittance of union dues of about Sh280 million, throwing branches into paralysis. Sossion admitted that the union is suffering. Keroche Breweries owners freed on bail

The Magistrate sitting on the tax evasion case involving Keroche Breweries Directors against The Kenya Revenue Authority has set the Keroche Breweries Bosses free on bail terms. “Joseph Karanja to pay cash bail Ksh. 2million within seven days while Mrs. Karanja should pay Ksh. 10million immediately’’ Magistrate Andayi ruled. IEBC announces date for Kibra By-elections

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has gazetted November 7, 2019 as the date for Kibra Constituency by-elections .  In a gazette notice dated August 16, IEBC said each political party intending to participate in the Kibra by-election has until August 26, 2019 to submit names of candidates set to take part in the nominations. Party nominations according to IEBC, will be held on September 9 and 10 ,2019. Dispute between the Gor Mahia fc and striker Dennis Oliech has escalated after the player said that he doesn’t recognize a letter terminating his contract issued to him by the club on Tuesday. Majority Leader Aden Duale to retire from politics if Ruto wins Presidency in 2022 Elections

The Majority Leader in the National Assembly Aden Duale has said he will quit politics if Deputy President William Ruto becomes president. Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV on Tuesday night, Duale said he could even serve as a clerk in State House if Ruto wins in 2022. Duale who has been a firm supporter of the DP since 2007, acknowledged Ruto to be a strong politician The Garissa Town MP made it clear that the 2022 presidential race will be between Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
