DP William Ruto warns Jubilee politicians

Deputy President William Ruto has urged leaders to focus on their mandate of serving the people.
He reminded them that they have a debt to Kenyans through the pledges they made to the electorate in 2017.
In particular, Ruto asked Jubilee politicians to pay attention to the party’s manifesto, whose prime goal is to transform the country. He spoke on Sunday in Suswa, Narok county, where he attended an interdenominational prayer service

The  Uasin Gishu Women Rep while appearing on K24's  Punchline on Sunday night together with her   Homa Bay counterpart Gladys Wanga ,  said that “When people from Rift Valley woke up to vote in 2017, they did not wake up to vote for Uhuru Kenyatta. They woke up to vote for Ruto who was in partnership with Uhuru Kenyatta.” Gladys Shollei The Woman Rep further added that many people in the Rift Valley voted for Jubilee Party in 2013 and 2017 General Elections  because they supported Ruto and not President Uhuru Kenyatta.

IEBC announces date for Kibra By-elections

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has gazetted November 7, 2019 as the date for Kibra Constituency by-elections .  In a gazette notice dated August 16, IEBC said each political party intending to participate in the Kibra by-election has until August 26, 2019 to submit names of candidates set to take part in the nominations. Party nominations according to IEBC, will be held on September 9 and 10 ,2019. More than 3000 of contraband sugar disappear from godowns

Police are investigating loss of more than 3000 bags of sugar suspected to be laced with mercury in two godowns in Changamwe and Jomvu in Mombasa. The godowns were closed last year by a multi agency team led by KEBS and KRA probing contraband sugar suspected to be contaminated with mercury and copper. In one the godowns owned by Bollore in Changamwe, thousands of sugar bags disappeared two weeks ago. Source the Star

Former Nyaribari Masaba MP and Moi era assistant minister Dr Hezron Manduku has passed on. Dr Manduku was admitted at the Nairobi Hospital in the ICU since last week, and lost the battle on Saturday night. Manduku was first elected in 1992, defeating Prof Sam Ongeri. He was appointed assistant minister Foreign Affairs following his success.
