Sports:Wanyama to become the highest paid player

The Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama is set to leave Tottenham Hotspur before the European transfer window closes next Monday.
Wanyama has slipped down the pecking order under Mauricio Pochettino following the summer additions of Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso.
The Kenya international was left out of Tottenham’s matchday squad for their surprise 1-0 defeat by Newcastle United on Sunday.
And Club Brugge are ready to pay Spurs £13.5m to secure the signature of the midfielder. 
Wanyama will receive £65,000 per week in Belgium,that is approximately Ksh 6,700,000 which would make him the club’s highest earner of all time.

Government cancels earlier announced public holiday

“Contrary to our earlier dispatch on the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census, we wish to clarify that His Excellency the President did not announce that August 26 will be a public holiday,” read the statement from PSCU. “We regret the error and wish to say that as much as the Kenya 2019 Population and Housing Census is important to the country, August 26 which will be on a Monday will not be a public holiday. Victor Wanyama signs for Club Brugge

Victor Wanyama in action, photo courtesy Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama has finally completed his move to Belgium side Club Brugge. The 28 years old will be the club's most expensive player in history. Tottenham Hotspur and Belgium's Club Brugge are reported to have settled on a fee of around Ksh.1.5 BILLION (£12 million) for the player. “Tottenham and Club Brugge have agreed a fee of around £12m for Victor Wanyama,”  Sky Sports  reported. President Uhuru Kenyatta declares another Holiday in August

The Government has declared August 26 as a  public holiday to allow maximum enumeration of Kenyans during the National Population Census that begins next Saturday. The announcement was made today by President Uhuru Kenyatta at the Kenyatta National Convention Centre (KICC) , Nairobi when he launched the countdown to the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census. "To ensure maximum enumeration during the first two days ( August 24 and 25)  of the Census period, I have authorized Monday, 26th August 2019 to be a Public Holiday," the President announced.  This brings the number of Holidays declared by the Government this  August to two.

Oparanya: Governors to shutdown County Governments in September

Governors to shutdown counties from September 16 if the Division of Revenue bill impasse is not resolved, CoG chair Wycliffe Oparanya has announced. CoG chair Wycliffe Oparanya addrssing the press, photo courtesy The Council of Governors (CoG) Chairman Wycliffe Oparanya said the Division of Revenue Bill 2019 stalemate has pushed county governments to the edge, making it difficult to pay workers on time.  He said all operations in all counties will be stopped on September 16, 2019.
