Sossion kicked out as KNUT Secretary General

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection on Friday suspended embattled Knut secretary general Wilson Sossion.

According to a letter by the Registrar of Trade Unions E.N Gicheha dated August 30, 2019, Sossion has been replaced in an acting capacity by his deputy Hesbon Otieno
Trending DCI orders arrest of Joe Mwangi
Sossion's ouster comes a day after a section of the union's National Executive Council met in Nairobi and recommended the removal of the secretary general and his subsequent replacement with Otieno.

More than 3000 of contraband sugar disappear from godowns

Police are investigating loss of more than 3000 bags of sugar suspected to be laced with mercury in two godowns in Changamwe and Jomvu in Mombasa. The godowns were closed last year by a multi agency team led by KEBS and KRA probing contraband sugar suspected to be contaminated with mercury and copper. In one the godowns owned by Bollore in Changamwe, thousands of sugar bags disappeared two weeks ago. Source the Star

South Sudan deports 16 Kenyans

Kenyan flag ,image courtesy Sixteen Kenyans are expected back home after South Sudan ordered for their deportation. The 16 Kenyans, alongside four British nationals, were working for a private security company but on Tuesday, the Ministry of Interior gave them 72 hours to leave the country. According to The East African, the deportation orders came just a few days after their company, Insight Security, failed to resolve a pay dispute over salaries and arrears of guards working for the firm. “There are 16 Kenyan nationals who have been given 72 hours to pay all dues which they owe the government, and also pay our people their pensions…then leave the country,” Thiik Thiik Mayardit, the Juba deputy mayor said. The Insight Security firm was closed down last week on allegations that it exploited local workers and had not paid taxes. The amount of Money Ken Okoth's family set to receive from Parliament

''But they will have to wait for some time since Parliament must first get a letter from the courts indicating the administrator of the late MP’s estate,”  MPs’ pensions expert has said “Yes the family is entitled to Sh32 million before tax, but we are not releasing the money now. Pastor Ng’ang’a apologises to Linus Kaikai over death threats

Pastor Ng'ang'a,Photo courtesy  Neno Evangelist Pastor James  Ng’ang’a on Monday apologized to journalist Linus Kaikai over death threats he allegedly directed at Linus.  Ng’ang’a  made the apologiy to Mr. Linus before Kiambu Law Courts Chief Magistrate Patricia Gichohi. “I apologize to Mr. Kaikai if he was angered by those utterances… I did not mean it that way…” said Pastor Ng’ang’a in a video uploaded to Twitter by Mr. Linus, a Director at Royal Media Services. “I have today forgiven Pastor James Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism for the threats to life he directed at me in March this year,” tweeted the veteran journalist. “Pastor Ng’ang’a apologized to me before Chief Magistrate Patricia Gichohi at the Kiambu Law Courts and I accepted the apology.” Linus added on his tweet.  Linus Kaikai, Photo Courtesy
