Sossion kicked out as KNUT Secretary General

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection on Friday suspended embattled Knut secretary general Wilson Sossion.

According to a letter by the Registrar of Trade Unions E.N Gicheha dated August 30, 2019, Sossion has been replaced in an acting capacity by his deputy Hesbon Otieno
Trending DCI orders arrest of Joe Mwangi
Sossion's ouster comes a day after a section of the union's National Executive Council met in Nairobi and recommended the removal of the secretary general and his subsequent replacement with Otieno.

The two Alex Mahaga and Frank Wanyama were found guilty of raping a musician last year at the Highrise Estate. This comes despite the defense praying for a noncustodial sentence. The Court was told that the two Kenya Harlequin FC players raped the singer overnight on her birthday at Seefar Apartments in Highrise, Nairobi, on February 10 last year.

Moi University Main Campus Over 700 students of Moi University are set to miss out of their graduation scheduled for 22/08/2019 due to missing marks. The affected student's have put blame on their lectures for hiding their marks. The university student's Leader however has turned the heat on their Vice Chancellor Pro Issac Sanga Kosgey and asked him to take responsibility. A company sacks 800 staff

East African Portland Cement Company  (EAPCC) has declared redundant all its 800 employees, setting the stage for a leaner workforce with an eye on trimming the company’s bloated wage bill. Acting EAPCC managing director Stephen Nthei Thursday said the sacked employees’ roles will be merged and salaries reduced to keep the struggling cement maker afloat. “We have a workforce whose total cost, compared to the productivity, is very high. Our target is to operate with less than 600 people earning less than what they are earning now,” said Mr Nthei. Employees who successfully reapply for their jobs will be expected to take a 40 percent cut on their previous wages. Source Business Daily
