The amount of Money Ken Okoth's family set to receive from Parliament

The family of former Kibra MP Ken Okoth will get Sh32 million from Parliament. The amount includes his group life insurance cover and death gratuity.
''But they will have to wait for some time since Parliament must first get a letter from the courts indicating the administrator of the late MP’s estate,”  MPs’ pensions expert has said
“Yes the family is entitled to Sh32 million before tax, but we are not releasing the money now. We have to follow the law, which requires that we have to first get the letter of the administrator of the estate,” the source said.
“If the family agree on how to share the money, the name of the administrator must be published in the Kenya Gazette, so that anybody with an issue can come up,”
The deceased’s brother, Mr Imran Okoth, however declined to comment on the matter citing that the matter is private and the family lawyer is best placed to handle it.
“I don’t know why they are telling you the amount and all that. Why would they do that yet these are personal matters?” he said

Safaricom employee charged for stealing Ksh. 45,000 from a deceased customer

Peter Odhiambo has been accused for accessing Janet Khaniri’s Safaricom line and making away with Sh45,600 on July 26 from her M-Pesa account. He was arraigned at a Milimani court yesterday jointly charged with others not before court.  Mr. Odhiambo pleaded not guilty to the charges and the prosecution did not object to his release on bond. His lawyer Kenneth however argued that he had a similar charge in another court. “Your honour, I don’t understand why the prosecution is bringing this case in piecemeal. We have another matter similar to this one. It is confusing,” the lawyer told Milimani Principal Magistrate Martha Mutuku.  Odhiambo was released on a bond of Sh200,000 with an alternative of Sh100,000 cash bail. It’s embarrassing to see even national leaders singing and dancing to the obscenity in public. The lyrics are dirty and not suitable for public consumption, especially children,” he wrote on Twitter. “Both songs are pure pornography. While we may not ban them because they are coded, it’s important for the public to know that they are dirty and unsuitable for mixed company. Two Rugby players found guilty of raping a musician sentenced for this number of years

The two Alex Mahaga and Frank Wanyama were found guilty of raping a musician last year at the Highrise Estate. This comes despite the defense praying for a noncustodial sentence. The Court was told that the two Kenya Harlequin FC players raped the singer overnight on her birthday at Seefar Apartments in Highrise, Nairobi, on February 10 last year.

He was awarded a gold certificate last week for his Sweet Farm Dairies Roret farm which stood out among others in the region. The competition organised by the Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Irrigation and Elgon Kenya, a non-governmental organisation, was aimed at encouraging farmers to transform their farms through technology. “In 2009, I bought a pedigree Friesian heifer which gave birth to the first heifer the following year. The cows have since multiplied; I now have 13 cows. The number could have been higher than this but I sold some,” said Ngetich.
