Auditor General Mr. Edward Ouko’s tenure comes to an end on 26Th August 2019 having served a non-renewable term of eight years. Ouko was appointed as the first Auditor-General of the Republic of Kenya under the 2010 Constitution on 27Th August, 2011.

Mr. Ouko is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (FCA) and is a co-opted Council Member of the Institute representing Africa. He is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (CPA) and holds a B. Com Degree (Hons) in Finance and Accounting from the University of Nairobi. Before his appointment, Mr. Ouko was the Auditor General at the African Development Bank where he directed the audit function and was also in charge of the anti-corruption and fraud function up to June 2010. Mr. Ouko before his appointment, served the African Development Bank (AfDB) for over 24 years in various capacities.

Mr. Ouko is set to leave office with a Public Lecture on Public Sector Accountability in the eyes of the first Auditor –General under the new Kenyan Constitution, at the University of Nairobi on 27Th August.

Appearing before Milimani Commercial Court Chief Magistrate, Peter Ngare, on Wednesday, August 28, Ms Kitany said one day she peeped at her husband’s phone and “found a woman had sent him a pornographic video”. That discovery, on top of being denied her conjugal rights, drove Ms Kitany into filing for a formal separation from the former Igembe South MP. “I filed for divorce because Linturi was cheating on me,” Ms Kitany told the court, adding: “He slept with other women in town.” “Linturi would come home late, and did not want to give me my conjugal rights,” said Ms Kitany.
