Rift Valley Voters feels betrayed by Uhuru: Gladys Shollei

Uasin Gishu County Women Rep Glady while appearing on K24’s Punchline on Sunday night  said that the  Rift Valley region feels betrayed by President Uhuru Kenyatta because of his continued silence on the 2022 succession race.
The Member of Parliament  also claimed that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) is a ploy to let Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga get to State House through the backdoor.

He was awarded a gold certificate last week for his Sweet Farm Dairies Roret farm which stood out among others in the region. The competition organised by the Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Irrigation and Elgon Kenya, a non-governmental organisation, was aimed at encouraging farmers to transform their farms through technology. “In 2009, I bought a pedigree Friesian heifer which gave birth to the first heifer the following year. The cows have since multiplied; I now have 13 cows. The number could have been higher than this but I sold some,” said Ngetich. More than 3000 of contraband sugar disappear from godowns

Police are investigating loss of more than 3000 bags of sugar suspected to be laced with mercury in two godowns in Changamwe and Jomvu in Mombasa. The godowns were closed last year by a multi agency team led by KEBS and KRA probing contraband sugar suspected to be contaminated with mercury and copper. School suspends SDA students for refusing to seat exams on Saturday

Five students from AIC Chebisaas Boys High School in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County moved to court on Wednesday after they were suspended for allegedly refusing to sit for exams on a Saturday. According to the students who belong to the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) faith, Saturday is their professed Sabbath Day and they should observe it by going  Church. The school management allegedly suspended them on July 6, 2019 for failing to do the allocated exams their Sabbath Day. The students accused the school of infringing on their religious rights.

Big win for Kenya on UN Security Council seat

President Uhuru Kenyatta and Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Monica Juma, Photo courtesy Kenya has been nominated as the African candidate for UN Security Council seat after defeating Djibouti in second round of voting at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa. A committee of envoys representing member states of the AU headquarters, officially known as the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC) made the decision in a secret ballot. Kenya will now contest at the United Nations for a one-year non-permanent seat in elections slated for next year in June.
