Mama Ida Odinga turned 69 years old on 24- August 2019. The couples were blessed with four children, two sons and two daughters. Unfortunately they lost one son Fidel Odinga who passed on in January 2015.
Mama Ida however didn't seem to have had any major celebrations to mark her Birthday.

Former Prime Minister Raila  Odinga through his advocates Rachier Amollo Advocates has written an urgent demand letter to The Nation Media Group demanding an immediate apology within 24 Hours. Advocates Instructions to Nation Media Group Admit liability in defamation and malicious publication of false information , and immediately publish an unconditional retraction and apology on a front-page article of equal prominence in the Daily Nation Newspaper and on the online Daily Nation Edition. IEBC announces date for Kibra By-elections

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has gazetted November 7, 2019 as the date for Kibra Constituency by-elections .  In a gazette notice dated August 16, IEBC said each political party intending to participate in the Kibra by-election has until August 26, 2019 to submit names of candidates set to take part in the nominations. Party nominations according to IEBC, will be held on September 9 and 10 ,2019. Raila Odinga set to receive an African major Award

Raila is set to receive the Icon of Democracy Award during the upcoming Africa Voice Achievers Award to be held in Nairobi on August 16. The African Union High Representative for Infrastructure will be among several Kenyans and Africans who will be feted during the third edition of the awards targeting personalities who have had a positive impact on communities in countries or region they live in. Each year people from various walks of life nominates individuals who they deem fit to be recognized for their contributions towards the advancement of Africa,” said Rev. Ambassador Elvis Iruh who runs the Netherlands-based Voice Magazine and founder of the award. The award committee is set up by the magazine’s board to screen and verify all nominations that are received. After shortlisting, the candidates are informed to accept their nominations.
